She’s an alumna of Emory University School of Law and the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.  She received her B.A. in Psychology, in 1992, at the age of 20.  In 1995, at the age of 23, she received her license to practice law in Michigan and was an associate at f/k/a Patterson, Phifer & Phillips, P.C.
While in law school she was hired by the renown Bryan Stevenson for a summer internship in 1993 with the f/k/a Alabama Capital Representation Resource Center in Montgomery, Alabama.  While there she had the opportunity to review briefings in the Walter McMillian case in which an African-American was recently exonerated for the alleged murder of a white woman.  A release celebration occurred the summer of the internship. With continued dedication to criminal defense work, she worked as a summer intern in 1994 at the Federal Public Defender's Office in Albuquerque, NM.  In 1997, she relocated to Phoenix, Arizona.  She worked as a public defender in Mohave and Maricopa County and nurtured her passion for indigent criminal defense work.  Attorney Looney opened her own practice in October 2003.  She currently engages in various areas of practice but primarily criminal defense and juvenile law.  Her practice is based on treating people fairly and providing the best possible representation to her clients.  For we know that the law is good, if a man uses it lawfully.  I Timothy 1:8.
